Our Story and What Drives Us

We are a German-Peruvian family business with a clear mission: together with the local communities of the Peruvian Amazon, we create sustainable sources of income – as an alternative to illegal gold mining, illegal logging, slash-and-burn practices, and the ongoing destruction of the rainforest.

Our goal is to promote economic development in the region while protecting the Amazon’s natural biodiversity for generations to come. Our Story and What Drives Us

What We Do

We develop cultivation and processing projects that provide real economic opportunities for local people – without destroying the forest. Instead of monocultures or large-scale deforestation, we focus on crops that thrive within the natural ecosystem and even help strengthen it.

Our principle: Live with the jungle, not from the jungle.

We promote the cultivation of valuable traditional crops that benefit from natural shade, protect the soil, and ensure long-term, stable harvests.

What We Do Not Do

Our commitment to authenticity and sustainability also defines what we do not do. We never use agro-chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers. All our chilies grow naturally, without chemical intervention, respecting both the soil and the surrounding ecosystems.
We also avoid large-scale monoculture fields and the production of artificial or industrial chilies grown in foil tunnels. Instead, our varieties come from small plots, home gardens, and traditional forest-based cultivation areas maintained by local and Indigenous communities.

By rejecting industrial shortcuts, we protect biodiversity, preserve natural flavors, and ensure that every chili reflects the true character of the Amazon rainforest.

Whom we work with

Alongside our own small cultivation areas, we collaborate with local communities and family farmers whose knowledge is deeply rooted in traditional Amazonian agriculture. This also includes partnerships with Indigenous groups such as the Ese Eja, Harakbut, Amakaeri, and other native communities of Madre de Dios, whose ancestral understanding of the forest enriches every step of our work.

We share which chili varieties we need, how to grow them sustainably, and how to process them to premium quality standards. In return, we purchase their harvests at fair and transparent prices.

These relationships create long-term, trust-based partnerships that strengthen local livelihoods, support Indigenous autonomy, and help preserve the rainforest for future generations.

Our Own Processing

After harvesting, we receive the carefully sorted and washed fruits directly from our partner farmers. At our facility, every batch undergoes a second strict quality inspection: only flawless chilies and fruits are accepted, weighed, and paid for immediately. This guarantees fairness for the producers and consistency for our clients.

The selected chilies are then gently dried to preserve flavor and heat, and—according to customer requirements—ground, crushed, or kept whole. Finally, they are securely packaged and prepared for export. Through this meticulous process, we ensure uniform, premium quality across all our Amazonian chili products.
